Course Overview
This 3-hour intermediate CE course examines the changing landscape of health care in the United States over the past several years, with a focus on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA). It explains the background, history, and legislation behind the law, and reviews its key provisions so you can better understand how health care reform affects consumers, employers, and the insurance marketplace.
What You Will Learn
The course is organized into five areas of study: an overview of PPACA’s background and legislative history; the implementation timeline and core health care law requirements; available plans and enrollment procedures; costs to taxpayers and laws affecting small businesses; and how agents can engage through training, resources, and ongoing updates. If the law is changed or repealed, supplemental materials are added over time to keep content current.
